Welcome Back

After more than 12 month break in my sport - "Welcome back" at this blog, beside for the English version it’s a “let’s start” due to I haven’t posted before. But nevertheless - You are invited to follow me to find a way out of my biggest and serious sports crisis I’ve ever had. The title of the tiny picture should mark the starting point for that way.

Sunrise - Departure

Last year in May I got a really bad patellar-tendinitis, which isn’t recovered or cured so fare. During the normal day I haven’t any pain, but once I start any sport the pain will immediately come back. Even 15 min bike ride or 400 m swim suffice to causes pain at my knee. And at running I better do not think about. So since May 2013 a cycle of pain, doctor, break and frustration has been started.
A nuclear spin examination has nothing serious discovered. There is only an inflammation, nothing else. On my question regarding what I shall do were always the same answers – waiting. “It’s only an inflammation”. So during the last year I tried nearly all existing doctors and medical methods but nothing had helped. Neither physiotherapy, stimulation current therapy, stretching, thermal, insoles, long rests, drugs helped nor osteopathy helped. That's simply so frustrating.
Therefore I made an appointment in a clinic which is specialized at knee surgeries. The doctor checked my medical history and did a gait pattern analysis. Thereafter he told me that he would like try two additional attempts before doing the ultimo ratio.
The first approach is to try new insoles with an increased lateral side to change the statics of the leg and thereby change tractive forces at the patellar tendon. I should start with light stretching including the tractus iliotibialis due to the current high tension at them. Start smart and after two weeks increase the pressure of stretching. That's absolutely new because all other doctors told me stretching is taboo due to the inflammation.
In terms of nutrition I should avoid milk products, even such as lactose free, sparsely meet and possibly no things with sugar or white flour. In addition minimum two liter of plaint water so that I achieve a level of three liter per day.
The most important point of the proposed measure package is sport. Yes you got it right - sport. OK, running, swimming bike ride was not meant, but sports who’s not stress my knee. It would be very important to liven up my blood circulation with a high average pulse and also have pulse peaks nearly at maximum. His proposal was kettlebell exercises for the upper body. Such exercises like Push Ups, Sit Ups, Dips, Pull Ups, Turkish Get Up, Russian Twist, Cleans and Press. Three times a week over a time of round about 40 minutes.

The second approach is complete fasting over two weeks with only water to drink. Drawn out or chronic inflammation often disappearing after fasting. But two weeks nothing to eat – I’ll begin with the first approachJ.

Insoles and Kettlebells have been delivered. The program shall take 6 to 8 weeks.

Let’s start
